Woods

The selected and well-seasoned, air dried woods I use for my instruments are :

Top: Spruce (Picea abies), Western red cedar (Thuja plicata)
Back and sides:   Indian rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia), Maple (flamed), Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), Purpleheart (Peltogyne paniculata), Walnut (Juglans regia)
Neck: Cedro, Spanish cedar (Cedrela odorata), Mahogany (Swietenia spp.), Maple (Acer pseudoplatanus)
Fingerboard: African ebony (Diospyros crassiflora), Blackwood Tek (modified pine (Pinus radiata)), Black locust

Soundhole rosettes

The soundhole rosettes are designed and made from wood veneers by myself.

Finish

For finish I use shellac, applied by hand in the traditional French polish technique, which allows a very thin and therefore not damping coating.
Tips for treatment look here.
